In this episode we have the pleasure of talking with science writer Travis Christofferson. We begin by discussing the emerging paradigm of Cancer as a Metabolic disease, and how this new approach can overturn, or build on top of, the discoveries we have achieved while approaching cancer as a genetic disease. We also talk about the importance of “outsiders” coming into specific fields and the need for empathic and trust-building narratives to support cross-disciplinary collaboration. Travis Christofferson has a degree in molecular biology and a master’s degree in material engineering and science. He is a full-time science writer and published the best selling book Tripping Over the Truth which shows how the Metabolic Theory of Cancer is overturning one of Medicine’s most entrenched paradigms.
